Prince William and Queen Elizabeth II turned heads in elaborate matching outfits during the biannual Order of the Thistle in Edinburgh, Scotland, on Friday.
Luckily for all of us, the two were spotted in their eye-catching ensembles after attending a service at St. Giles Cathedral, where two new knights were appointed to the order by the queen, according to People.
The British matriarch and her grandson, who was installed as a Knight of the Thistle in 2012, both looked regal in dark emerald velvet robes that were adorned with numerous brooches, crests, tassels, ribbons, and chains in shades of white and gold. On their heads, the queen and Prince William wore matching black caps with a towering white feather.
The two royals were accompanied by other Royal Knights of the Thistle, including the queen's daughter, Princess Anne, all of whom wore the order's traditional green robes and plumed hats, according to Town & Country.

As a Knight Companion in the Order of the Garter, the oldest and most senior order of chivalry in the UK, William wore a traditional dark blue velvet robe adorned with another unique assortment of ropes, gold chains, and ribbons.
