Queen Elizabeth, who is celebrating her 60th year on the throne this week, is by far the wealthiest royal in Britain, with an estimated next worth of $510 million.
Prince Charles comes next, with a net worth of $210 million, according to new research from Wealth-X, a wealth intelligence firm.
In celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Wealth-X calculated the net worths of of the top 14 adult members of the British royal line of succession. While the combined wealth of those family members topped $1 billion, it's still a rather modest fortune. Figures excluded the possible inheritance of the Crown Jewels and Royal Collection.
Said Mykolas D. Rambus, CEO of Wealth-X, “the fact that the combined wealth of the top 14 members only reached $1 billion reflects what has been suspected for some time: that new wealth is overtaking old wealth in Britain.”
